Frequently Asked Questions

What sets your tutoring services apart from others?

At Train Your Mind Tutoring, we pride ourselves in creating personalized tutoring services that cater to each student's specific needs and interests. Here are some features that make Train Your Mind Tutoring stand out:

  • Personalization & Connection with Students: We take time to understand the academic needs and personal interests/hobbies of our students to make each session as engaging and effective as possible. To do so, we email a Pre-Session Form to parents prior to their child's session, where they can fill out this information about their child.
  • Progress & Growth Reports: After each session, we send parents a detailed Progress Report from their child's session. This report includes information on the topics we covered during the session, student's progress made on their assignments, and recommendations for continued academic growth outside of tutoring. These reports both document the student's academic growth over time and build transparency between the parent and tutor.
  • Commitment to Helping Those in Need: We vow to donate 10% of all revenue to Project Pearls. This is a non-profit organization that provides shelter, food, and education to children in poverty from the Philippines.
  • Extensive Experience: Our founder, Kaleb Condez, has an extensive background in tutoring over the course of three and a half years. This experience includes providing homework help at Saint Philip Neri's Share & Care program, launching the Peer Tutoring program at Saint Philip Neri, and currently serving as a club officer for the elementary school tutoring club at Saint Joseph Notre Dame High School.

Where can the sessions take place?

Our services take place in either the student's home (Alameda or Castro Valley only) or a local library. We do not currently offer virtual/remote tutoring services.

If you reside in another city and are interested in our services, please email lebcondez@gmail.com.

How do I choose my location preference for the session?

After booking, you will receive a Pre-Session Form where you will be able to select your location preferences. In addition, this form will allow you to include your contact and student information. You will receive this email within one business day of booking.

What makes you qualified to tutor my kid?

I am committed to unlocking your student's full academic potential through my personalized tutoring services. With an extensive experience in tutoring, I have helped grow the minds of many elementary students at both Saint Philip Neri School and Saint Joseph Elementary School. Please read about my tutoring experience below:

  • 2022-2023 (7th Grade): Offered homework help to students at Saint Philip Neri's after school Share & Care program
  • 2023-2024 (8th Grade): Founded and ran the Peer Tutoring program at Saint Philip Neri. This required me to train a group of middle school tutors, communicate with teachers and parents to cater to their student's academic needs, and supervise a group of around 25 students weekly.
  • 2024-Present (9th and 10th Grade): Currently a club officer for the Saint Joseph Elementary School tutoring club at my current school, Saint Joseph Notre Dame. Through this club, students at Saint Joseph Notre Dame tutor elementary students on a bi-weekly basis.

What do you mean by "personalized" tutoring services?

Our goal is to create a personalized learning experience for every student. To do so, we learn about the student's interests and academic areas of growth prior to our first session. This allows us to connect with the student in a way that makes sense to them and fosters an engaging learning environment for your student.

How can I track my student's growth and progress from your services?

After each session, we will email a progress report to the student's parent(s). This progress report will include various things:

  1. The concepts we covered during the session
  2. The progress on the student's assignment worked on (homework, projects, essays, study guides)
  3. Student's academic strengths and areas of growth observed
  4. Suggestions outside of tutoring to develop academic growth

I still have more questions. Where can I contact you?

If you have further questions or concerns, please email lebcondez@gmail or reach out through the Contact page.

We look forward to working with your child soon!
